CivilTech Begins Study on Lower Greens Bayou Watershed
// On: 28 Apr, 2020
April 2020 -- CivilTech Engineering, Inc.is conducting a watershed planning study for proposed drainage improvements to Lower Greens Bayou Watershed.
The purpose of the study is to identify a plan to reduce flood risk along lower Greens Bayou. The study area consists of approximately 42 square miles
and includes 13 stream miles along Greens Bayou. The watershed contains primarily urban environments with a mixture of residential and commercial properties.
CivilTech's work will include identification and quantification of existing food risk; identification of planning objectives, constraints, and opportunities;
formulation of flood risk reduction alternatives; selection of a recommended flood damage reduction plan; and further refinement of a limited number
of projects to fund under the 2018 Hurricane Harvey Bond Program or any future bond programs. The study includes ranking of identified flood damage
reduction projects to assist the Harris County Flood Control District's selection of projects to move to the Preliminary Engineering Report phase.
