    CivilTech Engineering, Inc., is hiring for a Project Engineer – Bridges with 15+ years of experience. Our projects are diversified and include projects in Texas and Georgia. Must have a Texas license and capable of obtaining license in Georgia. This position will require travelling overseas for extended period of time to the country of Bahrain.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In the role of Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:

    • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically in between $1.0M to $3.0 million and involving a project staff that includes multi technical disciplines.
    • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
    • Conduct schematic, design development, contract and document work sessions in conjunction with Houston Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines, while working overseas in Bahrain.
    • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
    • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
    • Implement QA/QC procedures.
    • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans.
    • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Engineers.
    • Maintain professional engineering registration in Texas, obtain and maintain professional engineering registration in Georgia.
    • Serve in a lead technical role on bridge design projects while stationed in Bahrain.
    • Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects.
    • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
    • Complete drawings, specifications, and other material suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
    • Prepares standard engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, surveys and designs.
    • Prepared detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 15+ years bridge design experience including project management experience
    • PE license in GA or Texas (capable in obtaining if not)
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD and MicroStation
    • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
    • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills
    • Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
    • Willing and capable of working out of Civil Tech Bahrain office.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Education:

    Senior engineer with 7 to 15 years of experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies for flood control projects, storm water drainage systems, master drainage plans, and highway drainage systems.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prepares project designs and reports related to municipal and transportation hydrology and hydraulic projects.
    • Prepares and monitors project budgets and has overall responsibility for project profitability.
    • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
    • Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies.
    • Coordinates scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
    • Develops engineering agreements for projects within the department.
    • Prepares forecast of workload for assigned staff.
    • Develops probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
    • Responsible for attending and leading client meetings.
    • Responsible for control of work-in-process, ensures accurate client billings and monitors both accounts receivable and collection efforts for projects.
    • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
    • Directs and supervises other engineer's activities.
    • Responsible for contract administration.
    • Prepares, modifies or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
    • Directs technical staff in the preparation of construction drawings.
    • Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.

     

    Computer Modeling Skills:

    Must have basic working knowledge of USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-DSS) and ERSI ArcGIS.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

     

    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform hydrology and hydraulic studies using standard USACE software. Responsibilities will include one- and two-dimensional modeling for complex watersheds and hydraulic structures.
    • Candidates must be able to prepare written technical reports and have excellent verbal communications.
    • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with some client interaction.
    • Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

    This position will include team leadership and mentoring for an internal and subconsultant team of engineers and technicians for successful deliver of projects varying in scale and teams varying in discipline. Houston area experience and client relationships are preferred.

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

    • Registered Professional Engineer in Texas
    • Minimum 7 years of transportation engineering experience on major roadways throughout Texas
    • TxDOT experience and TxDOT precertification in Major and Complex Highway design
    • Produce designs and schematics for major highway projects throughout Texas
    • Interface with TxDOT, Toll Road Authorities, cities and counties regarding projects if needed
    • Proficient in Microstation, GeoPak and AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Design to client and regulatory requirements
    • Manage mid to large size projects and programs
    • Advise of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
    • Manage subordinate and/or subconsultant team members to quality, schedule and budget requirements
