  • ​ Project Engineer – Bridges

    CivilTech Engineering, Inc., is hiring for a Project Engineer – Bridges with 7+ years of experience. Our projects are diversified and include a wide variety of county, city and TxDOT bridge projects 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    In the role of Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:

    • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically in between $1.0M to $3.0 million and involving a project staff that includes multi technical disciplines
    • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
    • Conduct schematic, design development, contract and document work sessions in conjunction with applicable project managers and support team and appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
    • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
    • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews
    • Implement QA/QC procedures
    • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
    • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced project engineers
    • Maintain professional engineering registration in Texas
    • Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects
    • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
    • Complete drawings, specifications, and other material suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable
    • Prepare standard engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, surveys and designs
    • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 7+ years bridge design experience including project management experience, preferably have worked for TxDot 
    • PE license in Texas
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD and MicroStation
    • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
    • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills
    • Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills
    • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: Microsoft Project, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, Larsa, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge

    COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Candidate must demonstrate basic knowledge of Microstation and GeoPak, including Corridor Modeler.Demonstrates basic knowledge of design applications such as hydraulic design and roadway design. Must be proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

    Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry and financial functions.

     

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

      CivilTech Engineering, Inc., is hiring for a Project Engineer – Bridges with 7+ years of experience. Our projects are diversified and include a wide variety of county, city and TxDOT bridge projects 

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      In the role of Project Engineer, we'll count on you to:

      • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically in between $1.0M to $3.0 million and involving a project staff that includes multi technical disciplines
      • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
      • Conduct schematic, design development, contract and document work sessions in conjunction with applicable project managers and support team and appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
      • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
      • Work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews
      • Implement QA/QC procedures
      • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
      • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced project engineers
      • Maintain professional engineering registration in Texas
      • Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects
      • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
      • Complete drawings, specifications, and other material suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable
      • Prepare standard engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, surveys and designs
      • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

      Required Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree
      • 7+ years bridge design experience including project management experience, preferably have worked for TxDot 
      • PE license in Texas
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD and MicroStation
      • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
      • Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills
      • Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills

      CivilTech Engineering, Inc., is hiring a Transportation Graduate Engineer with 2+ years experience in its Cypress, Texas, office. The selected individual must be able to design multiple public and private transportation projects throughout Texas. Candidate should have recent civil engineering experience in transportation and major highway design experience managing a preparing plans and specifications for clients that include TxDOT, cities, counties, and area tolling authorities.

      This position will include team leadership and mentoring for an internal and subconsultant team of engineers and technicians for successful deliver of projects varying in scale and teams varying in discipline. Houston area experience and client relationships are preferred.

      Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

      • B.S. degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering 
      • Minimum 2 years of transportation engineering experience on major roadways throughout Texas
      • Interface with TxDOT, Toll Road Authorities, cities and counties regarding projects if needed
      • Proficient in Microstation, GeoPak and AutoCAD Civil 3D
      • Design to client and regulatory requirements
      • Manage mid to large size projects and programs
      • Advise of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
      • Manage subordinate and/or subconsultant team members to quality, schedule and budget requirements
      • Shop drawing review and disposition
      • Prepare project documents and reports
      • Maintain project files
      • Create and enforcing project quality plan
      • Data and document entry into various platforms
      • Report safety, health and quality issues to management
      • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
      • Assist management as directed
