    EDUCATION:

    Engineering graduate with 3+ years experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic studies for flood control projects, storm water drainage systems, master drainage plans, and highway drainage systems. Successful candidate must have passed EIT exam and have a Master’s degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources.

    COMPUTER MODELING SKILLS:

    • Must have basic working knowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoHMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-DSS) and ESRI ArcGIS.
    • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform hydrologic and hydraulic studies using standard software. Responsibilities will include one- and two-dimensional modeling to complete hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
    • Candidates must be able to prepare written technical reports and have excellent verbal communications.

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

    Candidate must demonstrate basic knowledge of Microstation and GeoPak, including Corridor Modeler. Demonstrates basic knowledge of design applications such as hydraulic design and roadway design. Must be proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

      Primary Responsibilities

      • We are currently searching for an experienced engineer to serve as a Water Resources Program Manager for water resources study and design projects in our Cypress, Texas office.
      • Progressive and documented experience leading moderate to complex drainage design projects for a diverse client base.
      • Documented experience with the Texas Department of Transportation, Harris County Flood Control and/or other municipal or county drainage entities
      • Leading the design and preparation of construction documents for complex stormwater and heavy civil engineering construction projects including earthen channels, concrete channels, detention/retention ponds, retaining walls, energy dissipation structures, drainage pump stations, and roadway drainage design.
      • Design oversight of various experience level staff, including external subconsultant support teams handling disciplines such as surveying, geotechnical engineering, etc.
      • Experience with client coordination, analysis, report preparation, public meetings, and development of standard and non-standard construction documents.
      • Strong technical writing and presentation skills and a working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.
      • Experience with water quality, fluvial geomorphology, and large basin hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and mapping is a plus.
      • Knowledgeable in erosion and sediment control criteria, stormwater management regulations, and permitting processes required.
      • Will be actively involved in projects greater than 50% of their time.
      • Experience in managing all ranges of project size, preparing and maintaining project schedules, tracking project financials, preparing status reports and invoicing.
      • Technical ability to prepare feasibility studies.
      • Familiarity with TCEQ dam safety requirements is a plus.
      • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
      • Ability to teach, coach and mentor less experienced engineers required.
      • Ability to work independently as well as oversee the work of teams of professionals and technicians.

      Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Leading the development of design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
      • Serving as Project Manager/Program Manager/Engineer of Record to lead the design and monitor progress of projects.
      • Planning, scheduling, and executing engineering work for projects and serving as the liaison between clients, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and design teams.
      • Resolving a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).

      Qualifications
